More Autumn love at Buxted Park Hotel

I was lucky enough to capture two Autumn weddings this week (Great Tythe Barn one here) and I am so pleased to share a selection of images from Isabel and Russ’ amazing wedding day at Buxted Park.

Isabel’s dress was absolutely incredible and despite it being really cold outside we got some gorgeous shots of them together and with their wedding party. The little pumpkins on the tables were a gorgeous touch and it was just such a beautiful and fun day. Enjoy!

Welcome to the world Baby E

I grew up in Norfolk and although I moved away when I was a teenager, it still holds a huge chunk of my heart.  My car can practically drive itself there. The familiarity of the A11, the accent, the tractors, the poppies, the views - I could go on. When Emma recently gave birth to her beautiful baby girl, I jumped at the chance to take some photographs at their home in Norwich. A little Norfolk hit and a chance to catch up with this gorgeous couple and meet their new little one - a perfect Tuesday!

Here is a little selection - including my absolute favourites - a newborn yawn and baby toes, I just can't resist them!

Beth and Chris' wedding at St Mary's Church Broadwater and East Dean Village Hall

The gorgeous Beth and Chris are jetting off on an amazing honeymoon soon so I wanted to do a sneak peek of their beautiful day before they leave! I had planned to do 5 or 6 images, but I clearly can't count...! I could have chosen so many more, beautiful details, amazing worship service, guests relaxing and enjoying a beautiful warm June evening in spectacular West Sussex countryside. But for now, a few highlights of the day.

Thanks, Beth and Chris, for being so great to work with and for always being up for being whisked away for a few photos. Hope you enjoyed your day as much as I did!

Niky and Dan's wedding at Asylum and The Lordship Pub

Niky and Dan had an absolutely beautiful wedding day at Asylum London followed by a red London bus journey to the gorgeous The Lordship pub close to their home in East Dulwich.

I absolutely love it when brides get ready at home: there's something wonderful about the contrast between the every day and a bride, her bridesmaids and all the preparations.  The (amazing!) wedding shoes reflected in the oven, for example!

Niky and Dan were warm and fun and relaxed and put me at ease straight away - as did all their friends and family.  Beautiful venues, fantastic guests, a couple so beautifully in love - it doesn't get better than that!

A selection of images below.... some of my personal favourites...  their daughter's face when they took their first kiss, the cake topper, the hilarious and beautiful speeches and Niky's amazing look of love for Dan.

A very special maternity session

I am going to keep this brief because these guys are so gorgeous and you don't want to read my waffle.  Rosie is 39 weeks pregnant with her second child and she looks AMAZING.  No waddling, no moaning, no stressing, just completely blooming gorgeous.  Rosie and Darren's daughter, my niece Daisy, is going to be such a brilliant big sister, she's 2 and a half and hilarious and kind and chatty and beautiful.

I can't wait to meet my new niece any day now and photograph the new family of four.

Sarah and Rhys' beautiful Surrey country wedding

Sarah and Rhys' beautiful Surrey country wedding took place at the church of St Martha-on-the-hill with a reception afterwards in Sarah's parent's garden.  Sarah got ready along with her fabulous bridesmaids at home which meant I could be there to see the marquee being decorated and then pop back to take a few shots of bridal preparations.  It was a very beautiful day with gorgeous styling (her bouquet was absolutely gorgeous), lovely attention to detail and fun, relaxed friends and family.

The church was so beautiful perched on the hill with the most incredible views all around.  Sarah and her Dad shot down the aisle much to everyone's amusement!  The service was perfect and we were able to capture some confetti and group shots before heading over to the reception.

Here are some of my favourite images from their happy day. Enjoy!

A beautiful 36 weeks bump shoot at West Dean, Chichester

"Have you seen the forecast :-/" came the message - and there it was, not one but TWO rain drops indicating heavy rain for the exact time of our planned photoshoot.  There was no postponing this - with Rachel due to give birth in just a few weeks we needed to document this time - and quick!

Thankfully we managed a few shots in the gorgeous greenhouses at West Dean before lunch and then the drizzle finally gave up and we were able to capture some moments outside too.  The stunning gardens and daffodils were the perfect backdrop for this family shoot.

This is such a special time before Rachel and Andrew's second baby comes along. I always feel incredibly nostalgic looking back at photographs of the three of us before our Eleanor was born.  I cannot WAIT to meet their boy when he arrives (soon, for Rachel's sake!) and I will be sure to share images of him just as soon as they let me through the door!

Enjoy this little selection of this beautiful spring maternity photo session at West Dean.

Nick & Mahoka's wedding at Bailiffscourt Hotel

Visitors to my Instagram account (please do follow me!) will know that I regularly use the hashtag   #lovemyjob and it's true, I really really do. I got into wedding photography because I loved photography, and friends started asking me if they could pay me to do their wedding, and then their friends did, and their friends, and it's gone from there.  Hand on heart, I love what I do.

Why? Because I get to tell a story. I get to take photographs all day - a dream come true! But not just any old photographs, the most intimate moments of a love story, the carefully thought out details of a couple's longed-for, saved-for day, the looks between siblings, the Pimms-fuelled belly laughs at terrible jokes, the tears at nervous, heartfelt father of the bride speeches, seeing the couple look around the room and taking it all in - that their dearest friends and family are there especially to celebrate their love with them.

This celebration aspect was absolutely key to Nick and Mahoka's wedding.  They got married officially in Japan last year and came over to England this week to celebrate their marriage at Bailiffscourt with a small but important congregation of friends and family, including Mahoka's family from Japan. The assembled crowd enjoyed Pimms, a delicious meal, some amazing cake (check out the fab group shot below) with English Breakfast and Japanese Green tea and then reconvened in Arundel for some drinks later. It was intimate and perfect.

Nick and Mahoka's love for life and for eachother is honestly just beautiful. They are such a warm and generous couple, the details of the day were incredible and they were genuinely so happy to be celebrating their love with such important people in their life.  I must say an ENORMOUS thank you to my friend Nicki Feltham who recommend me to them as she was booked. I am SO glad she did, I don't mean to gush on too much but my life is richer for having met them.

Please do get in touch if you would like me to tell your story.

Nick & Mahoka - pre-wedding photographs at Bailiffscourt Hotel

I will gush about this lovely couple next week after their wedding (they are honestly just so super generous, warm, fun, sweet...) but first I wanted to share some images from their pre-wedding shoot at Bailiffscourt this weekend. They were so easy to work with, and their love for each other is just infectious.

Aren't they adorable?!  So looking forward to their upcoming wedding celebration at Bailiffscourt

James & Lucy - Loseley Park wedding

One of the questions I get asked quite frequently is "shall we meet you before the wedding?".  Getting together to chat through the day and get to know eachother a bit better is always great, but often it's not possible and I promise you on the day we will feel like friends straight away.  This was certainly the case for Adam and Victoria who I had only chatted on the phone to previously, and Lucy and James who had planned their day via Lucy's Mum and sister whilst they moved to Australia!

It was a cold but such a fun day at Loseley Park which was just the most stunning location for their day.  The room in which they got married is just jaw-droppingly beautiful and grand, and the barn where they enjoyed their reception looked beautiful adorned with fairy lights and stunning flower displays.

James and Lucy are an incredibly relaxed, easy going couple and they wanted their wedding photographs to reflect that. My sides were hurting from laughing so much and I was made to feel so welcome - it was a fantastic wedding and a perfect start to my 2016 season.  Congratulations guys and thanks for the lovely testimonial

Victoria & Adam's wedding - Barnsley House

I hadn't met Adam or Victoria before the day of their wedding and as I drove to Barnsley House in The Cotswolds I was anxious that I wouldn't gel with them or they might feel awkward infront of my camera... I needn't have worried - they are the most warm and lovely people, as are ALL their friends and family, and we all got on so well that they made my job a complete joy.

Vix and her beautiful bridesmaids, step daughter and her Mum got ready in the Secret Garden suite, just a perfect space with amazing lighting. They greeted me as a friend, and I cried along with everyone else in the room as Vix put on her stunning  Johanna Johnson dress.

Vix's amazing hairdresser (and friend) Ian Denson from Steven Carey in London did an incredlbile job in getting everyone's hair perfect and right on time. Having him there for the whole day was fabulous - not many brides get to have their hair and make up done before the formals!

The weather was completley perfect, an Indian summer after what felt like weeks of rain and wind. Having an outdoor ceremony was suprisingly intimate and Vix and Adam had chosen the most perfect readings to accompany their vows.  The whoops and cheers as they were declared Husband and Wife were electric - this is obviously a well loved couple!

Little Lake Flowers decorated both the outside area and the marquee so so beautifully and it was stunning.  I would highly recommend Lynfa @ Little Lake Flowers - she has an incredible eye and her Instagram is gorgeous!

I could gush on and on about this wedding but I'll let the pictures tell the story.  Enjoy x

Emily and Jimmy's wedding - St Mary's, Bramber and Fitzleroi Barns

I met Emily when our daughters went to the same music class in Littlehampton. I'd recently moved from Worcester and was finding my feet finding friends and settling down. I liked Emily from the get go and was so thrilled when she asked me over to hers for a cuppa.  She's just such a warm and beautiful soul and I knew her wedding would be incredible. I squealed when she asked me to be her photographer!

Emily got ready at her home by the sea surrounded by so many amazing women in her life as well as her 2 beautiful daughters. She is part of a slightly complicated but incredibly close family all of whom completely adore eachother and were filled with joy for this special day.  When her Dad and brothers saw Emily for the first time in her incredible Jenny Packham dress it was just so emotional.  This was just the theme of the whole day, it overflowed with love and happiness.

Emily and Jimmy chose St Mary's Bramber for the first part of their wedding, what a beautiful venue. The ceremony was so personal, they had found the most perfect readings and they were lucky enough to have their friend Jamie play the piano during the signing of the register which was just incredible, such an honour.

There was a drinks reception after the ceremony and time for some group shots and we were lucky enough to be given access to St Mary's secret garden for some shots of the new Roberts family.

Afterwards we all travelled to Fitzleroi Barn and were joined by more friends for the wedding breakfast and party.  This was such a perfect venue as the large courtyard meant all the children could safely be entertained by the fabulous Mermaid and Pirate!  Bubsie and The Beat Bros played whilst the hog roast cooked and everyone got to know eachother.

I could go on and on about this wedding but will share some images now... just trust me that it was amazing. And that sunset at the end of the day... sigh!

Danny & Vicky's wedding - at home in Oxfordshire

I first met this lovely family when I took some photos of their daughter at The St Harold Hillier Gardens and when they mentioned they were looking for a photographer for their wedding I so hoped they'd choose me as they are just such a lovely relaxed couple to be around.

Thankfully they did and it was a gorgeous July day when I travelled through the gorgeous poppy fields to Danny's parents house where the reception was being held. Vicky got ready at the house next door then travelled to the church in one of Winston Churchill's old cars (a neighbour is a collector and was happy for them to have the use of it for the day!)

Danny and Vicky had kept it quiet that the service was actually also going to be Sophia's christening - the guests were asked to open the scrolls that they had been given which held the words for the baptism - such a lovely surprise for everyone there. Sophia naturally screamed when the water hit her head and I love the shot of Danny's face as she cries!

After the ceremony I was able to travel with them in that amazing car to a little nature reserve nearby for a couples shoot. They are so clearly in complete adoration of eachother and it was so easy to get beautiful shots of them.

The marquee in Danny's parent's garden on the banks of the River Thames looked stunning with so many sunflower details, hessian, beautiful tea cups and other gorgeous finishing touches. The cake in particular was amazing it being half wedding cake and half christening cake!

The focus was definitely on the three of them as a family and it was just such a gorgeous and fun day. Here are my highlights...

Russ and Lucy's wedding - The Bird in Hand, Reading

This was an incredibly special wedding for me as I have known Lucy since we met at university. She and another friend and I formed "Swot Club" (that's how rock n roll my uni days were...) where the idea was that we would get together in the library to, well, swot.  Only, during that time my then boyfriend was at a different university and I used to spend every other weekend travelling to see him and then just staying one more night and missing Swot Club nearly every. single. time. Still, I am now married to him, Lucy seems to have forgiven me and I got a good degree so silver lining...

Anyway, Russ and Lucy are just the most delightful couple and so right for eachother. They have become a family with children from previous relationships and their own son Nate and are such a strong unit and it was SUCH an honour to be asked to capture their beautiful day.

They got married at The Bird in Hand near Reading which is near where they live and it was such a great venue with the gorgeous beamed bridal suite and beautiful reception room after the ceremony in Reading.  Lucy spent hours assembling all the finishing touches and it looked beautiful.  Such a wonderful day and here are the highlights...

Personal Post / Daffodil Girl

My daughter loves an excuse to put her tutu on and so when she was dancing round the house in it this Spring I had to grab a bunch of daffodils for a mini photoshoot.

It's so important to me to capture these little moments... her little cheeks, delicate fingers - I know how quickly time goes when you have children and I'm so glad I've taken time out to do little shoots with them as well as the more conventional images... their lives are very well documented and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Headshots for a local author

Carol Thomas approached me to take some headshots for her. She is a local author and her first book (Crazy Over You) was recently published and she needed some shots of her social media outlets and publicity.

She was incredibly easy to work with and very happy to be led around Arundel for a variety of poses and locations!

Thanks Carol for booking me and am so happy you are pleased with the results.
