Arundel Gallery Trail 2009

26.08.2009 (8:30 am) – Filed under: News ::

This week I am selling some of my cards at Arundel Gallery Trail. It’s a fantastic event – houses and venues all around the town open their doors every afternoon for 10 days to display & sell their art: photographs, sculptures, etchings, drawings, tapestry, paintings, installations.

So far it’s been a really great week – I’ve met loads of lovely people and have sold lots of cards. The most popular designs so far are:

Cherries & Tea Cup

Raspberries

11th February 2008 - Day 42

Scavenger Hunt: Summer

So, if you’re in West Sussex this week, do come and take a look – if anything else, it’s a fab excuse to nosy round people’s front rooms! I am at Venue 41 with my uncle Duncan Gillies & family friend David Peduzzi until Bank Holiday Monday. Hope to see you there!

David and Elisabeth’s wedding – 6th June 2009

On Saturday I had the pleasure of photographing David and Elisabeth’s wedding in Worcester.  We all woke up to heavy rain but fortunately this didn’t dampen any spirits and it was a really lovely, happy day.  Elisabeth is a natural beauty so a pleasure to photograph!

Here are a few of my favourite images from the day.

Shoes

Getting ready

Leaving for the church

Kiss

Bridesmaids

Bride and her father

Carrying Elisabeth out of the bog

Men In Kilts

Ceilidh

Bride and father in law

*** The other 450 or so are in the first three albums here. ***

Really hope you like them, David and Elisabeth. Here’s to many years of happiness.

My Local Community

22.02.2009 (7:23 pm) – Filed under: News ::

I was challenged by a friend of mine to take more pictures of strangers, and she specifically suggested I take photos of the pillars of my local community.  I thought about it some more and decided to take photographs of the traders of my local community.

So, armed with camera and business cards, I started the project.  There are about 20-25 businesses (I haven’t counted yet) in this stretch of road as well as a park.  I may go up to the churches and to the primary school, we’ll see.

So far it’s been brilliant. I’ve had a fantastic response and it’s been really good to chat to shopkeepers in places I would never go in to (the Lorry Drivers recruitment agency isn’t normally on my list) and everyone’s been really friendly and have let me snap away and chat to them.

A few examples, more to come in the future…

Carpets warehouse

White goods

Dry Cleaners

My Local Community #1: Butcher
